What ever happened between his pre match interview and his after match interview has riled Derek.

So maybe now some fans will understand how bad it is at our Club when Derek comes out and says what some fans have said for sometime now.

He’s realised he’s been taken for a fool and he’s put it out there, that he, the players and all the other employees and the fans have been extremely loyal to this Club and is asking “is this how you repay that loyalty?”

They were certainly two 'different Dereks'. In the pre match interview he was disappointed in relegation but calm, confident that he'd be here next season and that a host of players have triggered their contract and would also be here next season. He was expecting to be mid table and aiming for a play off place. In the twitter X interview (which, at the moment, does not seem to be on the club website whereas Jordon Slew's is:? ) he get's very irate that the "people up there, Board and Owner" have no plan for next season and he cannot make a plan until they do".

Derek was given some vague assurances as to his future and funding etc which made him think things were going to be ok.

Now the time's actually close to offering new deals to existing players and starting to look for new targets, he's asked for clarity/certainty as to his budget etc. and wants to actually put pen to paper on some new contracts, and has been told there's nothing guaranteed and he can't.

So basically, he's going to have to let all the players go again after next week's game as he's not been given any budget nor authority to offer any new contracts.

Embarrassing to see the chairman harrassing long time fans at the game because they had been criticising the board on social media! Every promise given to Derek of money to strengthen in L1/L2 has been broken,if 10% of the FA cup money had been put into the playing staff we could have stayed up!

You don’t have to bite I really wasn’t having a go at you or any fellow fans. I have reread what I put and I can see why you think that. I hope you believe me when I say the ‘Head burrowing in the sand’ answer to your question was directed at them up stairs and not you or any fellow fan. I should have made it clear it was upstairs that burrowing their head in the sand and that was a massive problem. I went to the Fans forum and came away quite happy that they were confident we would get out of trouble and the sale was progressing.

I then hoped to point out that now Derek came out with his remarks that fans will see how bad it is, compared to what those above, feed us. That was the comparison I was trying to make, cake handed and I apologise if it upset you or any other fan.

Indeed I confess if anybody burrowed their head in the sand before the end of Feb it was me, (that’s when I changed my mind), up until the Doncaster game I thought we would get out of the mess we are in both on the field and off.

Once again sorry and I hope this goes someways to you understanding better what I was trying to point out.
