The Premiership payment 2024-25 for EFL League 2 was £430,000, so that is what the parachute payment should be.

You then add on ticket sales, sponsorship, Hospitality/Corporate income, Shop Sales and other income and whatever the funding our owner gives us, what will all that come too? What will it buy us to be competitive? Who will we attract?

The first priority must be something we never had this year! and that’s a forward that will get in the region of 20 goals a season.

You assume Jason will let the club keep the parachute payments and season ticket payments! What if he does what he's done in the past and reduces his loan advances by the same amount so that the club doesn't benefit at all? A bit like this season's cup run money which clearly didn't all find it's way to Derek given the players he sold and bought in January - he barely got any of it and certainly not the full amount due to Jason's games.

He's hardly likely to change his method now

From what I can gather doing a bit of research, we keep 100% of the EFL money as a parachute payment in our first season, but lose the Premier League solidarity payment (just shy of half a million).

I think Derek mentioned in an interview that our current budget is around 10th in NL? Obviously it’ll drop further, and I think will probably be bottom half but not bottom four. There’ll likely be some very tiny budgets in the NL, as well as the big hitters at the top who are spending (apparently) around the £3 million mark.

In terms of relegation release clauses in contracts - who knows. We didn’t have them for Rawson, Bedeau, Love etc when we dropped from L1. No reason to jump to the conclusion that we’ll have them this time around. We’ll just have to see.

The two issues last season were a delay in submitting the budget, and that weird EFL registration embargo thing due to the HMRC problem. That EFL embargo thing isn’t a problem now, but I’m still wary of Jason once again failing to get his act together in time to properly sort the budget.

Exactly he uses other avenues of income to reduce what he actually loans the Club (what ever way that is), to run it and it all gets signed off by the Club, to keep a functioning football team, (understandable from the point of view of our directors), that people pay good money to go and watch.

Unfortunately this strategy has not been competitive and we are on the brink of going from being a EFL League One side to National League football and even though we don’t know the half of it on the finance front, it’s quite apparent it’s our directors who have kept this Club going, not the stay away Owner.

Not everybody sees that part of his strategy, he cannot and will not fund this Club properly, ever! He uses the directors to keep Morecambe FC going, why is that? To reap any benefit's that there might be in the loans?

You might of heard the Club’s up for sale!! He certainly cannot see it as a burden, after nearly four years! and why would he? If we knew the other half perhaps we all would understand his befuddled business acumen.

Back to players for next season, just a player who can get 20 goals and help going towards stopping us dropping further down the football pyramid.
