I clearly remember my only 'own goal'. At Crusty Park in 1968 for Lancaster & Morecambe schoolboys v Blackburn. Twas a late equaliser for them too, a 6-yard box clearance spun backwards into the roof of the net. We won the replay at their place though 3-4. Our talisman that season was a scrawny little teenager called Alan Taylor.

The Dolly Blues seem to be in the soft and smelly a bit like us !

They have lost quite a few of their better players and I can see the Bailey Brothers moving in the Summer to better off clubs like Macclesfield , Bury etc

I think there was with Leeds. Not sure if it's valid if he moves a 3rd time.

Connor Ripley will be relegated from League 1 for the 2nd year running if Port Vale lose away at Bolton this Saturday

Not a record he would want on his CV

I'd still welcome him back here though, depending on how fit Stuart Moore can be!

A stint in the states looks like a really nice career option for lower league footballers, get off the relentless EFL treadmill for a while, bit of sunshine (depending where you go).

I remember him playing for North End in 10 games he conceded 22 goals.

This season he has let in 73 goals in 53 games, 15 clean sheets.

2022-23 for Morecambe 79 goals conceded in 50 games, 10 clean sheets.

Some fans would welcome him back, I’m not against it, his saves ratio this season is 63% and he had similar stats at Morecambe and he did well on saving penalties. So we will see what happens, with his age he might do alright in league two, for me his concentration is suspect and his positioning is questionable.

For me we must keep Moore if possible.

Not sure about that,
heard we offered him a new deal and he turned it down, didn't want to play in L2

Oh well

He was probably our player of the season last season to be fair to him. I didn't blame him for not wanting to drop down to league 2 as he was clearly good enough to play at a higher level. I actually feel bad for him, in an interview this week he says Port Vale told him they were aiming for a promotion/playoff push so must have been really disappointing when he realised that wasn't the case.

I remember listening to an interview he gave soon after and he clearly gave an impression that he would've loved to have stayed, so who knows?

Oh well! :D
