Tell you what. With all these decent players being released, if we were prepared to pay decent wages, we could be well within a shout of doing really well next year...

With all these players released, it's a buyers market.

As Gnasher quite rightly says....'it's a buyers market'...which means that players will not be able to dictate wages as some have done before.

Many will be without clubs come the start of the season.

Maybe at last a bit of reality will prevail.

I have never said we're "safe" but I very much believe that we won't go down and that now is a good time to give the existing players a good run rather than 'panic buy' during this window. I do believe that there will be more players available in the summer and that due to the economic situation, many of them will be demanding less wages to secure their contract. Therefore, over all I believe that we will still be in this league next season and should therefore be planning for next season and playing positively for the rest of the season.

That's why I was happy for us to not have a panic buying transfer window last January, some bargain signings will be available over the next few weeks.
