London Marathon 2009, finished in 4hrs 5 mins 5 secs

We raised £460.92 from the turnstile collection today.

Jim Bentley also donated £100 on behalf of the players, so a big thank you to the squad.

thats a total of £560.92!

The Bradford fans contributed a big proportion, so id especially like to say a big thank you to them for being so generous.

Thank you

Thanks once again to everyone who has helped me to reach my target. money is still comming in and it looks like I might even break £1800!

Only a week to go now! I'm concentrating on resting, relaxing and Carbo loading before the big day, todays game didn't help with the relaxing, but we got the result in the end so thats all that matters.

What a fantastic day!

I really enjoyed it, and definitely will be doing a Marathon again.

Had a storming first half and past 13 miles in 1hr 56 so was on for a sub 4hr finish. But then it got very hot! the temp was officially 17c but in sun it felt alot warmer. The long winding part of the course from mile 15 to mile 20 that goes towards docklands really took it out of me and my pace fell away but once the course turned back to the direction of the finish i picked up again and I even had enough left for a sprint down the mall!

absolutely chuffed to bits with 4hrs 5min 5secs, if it was cooler I'd have done a sub 4hrs no probs, there's always next time!

you can view my splits and pace graph at the address below if your interested.

Only just spotted this, but would have asked on saturday anyway. you deserve a beer for such a great performance. you've done yourself, the Town of Morecambe, Morecambe FC and Leonard Cheshire proud.

Yep.

I finished in just over 46mins. Last year I managed it in 53mins, so a 7 minute improvement :D

Next one is the Morecambe 10km on 14th June. Fancy it Phil???

Nope I wont have reached my peak by then  maybe if it had been end of July/August

I suppose not going paintballing the day before helps as well.
