Not sure how many listen to Radio Lancashire Football Review on a Monday evening but tonight they had studio guest Steve Eyre giving his opinion on local teams in all the EFL leagues.
At the beginning of the season he was very critical of DA and his selection of Assistant and in particular DAs recruitment policy predicting that we would be relegated as a result of signing too many non league players and players who couldn't cut it at EFL level.
Tonight he was guest one again and seemed to relish in the misfortune of our club, basically we got what we deserved and that DA should have recruited a team based around 25 year olds just like Stanley did and will no doubt develop this coming close season.
He doesn't rate DA or his assistant and says the blame for our demise lays firmly on the shoulders of DA and nobody else.
If I can get a reply of the feature I'll post it on here. It started around 6.40 and lasted a good 10 minutes .

Never heard of him but he sounds poorly informed and ignorant. I won’t be listening.

Apparently he’s a football expert, did really well in football! That’s when you ask him!!
Totally doesn’t want to understand our situation, he has a thing about us, apparently!
We could not afford the players DA wanted or had the chance to sign because of the embargo and the lack of funding. Now who’s fault was the lack of funding or the embargo, well one person who’s fault it wasn’t, if you have any understanding of our situation, was Derek.

I suggest everybody listens to his rant.
Shows how ignorant he is of our situation OR simply doesn't care and that we deserve everything that is going on

Spent a year as a player for Wigan but didn't make a single appearance. Retired at age of 19. Two managerial stints with Rochdale and Huddersfield and sacked both times after about a year.
Lucky to have a job as a football pundit with that history and more fool Radio Lancs for employing him. Sounds as if Redrobo could do a better job.

The rumour I have heard is that Eyre applied for the Assistant managers job and was overlooked by Derek who gave the job to Danny Grainger. It would explain his bitterness

Who cares what Steve Eyre says

He virtually called Derek a liar

Slagged us off at every opportunity through the season. Also, agreed with the FA getting rid of FA Cup replays as they are of no benefit to anyone, but put extra pressure on the top teams. A bit of a dick.

He’s currently in the ‘coaching setup’ at Matlock Town, three divisions below the EFL.

Why didn't we just spend loads of money and sign a load of amazing 25 year olds at the peak of their powers? Why didn't we think of that??

Dagenham did that years ago by signing half a team of loanees to get to League 1.
They came crashing back down and still haven't found a parachute

I'm in that mood today to send off an email to Radio Lancashire expressing our complete and utter contempt of him......but it will probably fall on deaf ears but make me feel better....for a while...
Out and out tosser....and I thought that nobody could possibly overtake Jason in that category.....

Honestly i dont know why the BBC brings him on as a "pundit" he didnt play in the EFL, Neither manage a side in the top 5 leagues of england, he shows complete and utter contempt for us, as usual its standard affair from BBC Radio Sport Accrington

Matlock have just been relegated after a points deduction, and have been taken over by David Hilton who has a lot of convictions for fraud. He is a former owner of Scunthorpe,so Mr Eyre will be looking for a new job soon I expect.Although he has a lot of experience as a coach at Man City and others he has something against us!

It does seem odd that the BBC would appoint somebody as a pundit whose only achievement is being a backroom coach and has never even had a professional contract as a player.
There are plenty of ex pros out there who they could ask (and would probably behave more professionally).

I had a look on Twitter to see if I could find anything on Mr Eyre. Turns out that the Nob Ender fans thought he was fantastic on that programme, some even saying that he should get the Managers job.
