Swansea City’s home FA Cup third-round tie against Morecambe has been chosen for overseas TV coverage and will take place on Saturday January 6 2024 at 5.30pm.

The Swans and the Shrimps meet for the first time in a competitive fixture, with the hosts hoping to advance to the fourth round for the first time since 2021 at the Swansea.com Stadium.

Ticketing details will be confirmed in due course.

Should be a decent cheque to add to the £108,000 for winning 2 matches away from home and in addition to our share of gate money from 3 away ties. Let's hope for a win to add another good cheque and then a home 4th round against a Premier League side.

I wonder where in the world it will be shown? Hope it is a decent wedge of cash for us.

Lots of places around the Med have access to all televised footie matches - don't know whether it's legal or not, but bars etc usually have access to virtually everyone.

In the UK, all you need is to know how to access the "non uk" broadcasts - if you're in the know, or know someone who knows the links etc., it's easy.

According to F/B there's 'one happy Jack in Texas' now looking forward to watching the game live. If he's ITK it would suggest it's being broadcast in the states at least.

In my experience FA cup ties not selected for live broadcast are virtually impossible to watch live anywhere. The FA tend to have it pretty much sewed up. That being the case with the kick off time being altered from the norm you would assume some foreign broadcaster has paid the fee for the privilege of a live broadcast. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the fee for this circa somewhere in the region of £100,000 to each club for the third round rights.

Very handy if that is the case!

The 12 clubs in the 6 games chosen for terrestrial tv over that weekend get £85K each.

Our game isn't on the FA list

Still a slight hope of S4C choosing us. Not sure if our kick-off time already being moved makes us more, or less likely?

Only fair, what with Wrexham being the biggest club in Wales, if not Europe...

How quickly we all move on! It would be one of the great things if Tyson Fury bought the club, so we'd become the media darlings for a while. The cash that goes to the wealthiest clubs is ridiculous. Jealous? Too right.

5-0 down at half time! To think we beat Bournemouth (albeit in League 2) 5-0 at Christie Park. It's a funny old game!
