Had a feeling he might stay without much persuasion, possibly a word in his ear from his dad, who I had a good chat with at their final game before the lockdown.

Step 2 of the pyramid, national north and south, play offs due to start 18/19 July.12 teams involved in this to decide promotions to national league premier division to replace Gravesend and Fylde.

With Ebbsfleet, Maidenhead, Fylde and Chorley it dovetails nicely with two north and two south up and down.

As far as I am aware only three teams to be relegated,so Maidenhead will be ok and stay in premier division.

Didn’t realise, lucky break for them, bit like Forest Green getting out of jail twice!! :D

Jim Bentley linked with the Barrow job if Evatt does go to BWFC.

Would be a real admission of being in a relegation fight if they go for Bentley when Evatt goes (which is meant to be imminently).

It would basically be giving up on trying to find a successor for his style and ideals and going for relegation dogfight pedigree. Listening to an interview with Evatt (very interesting listen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0f1g2693mU) his approach is miles apart from Bentley these days.

Targeted recruitment and an attitude of 'we will play good football, play better than you and beat you'. Shades of a younger Bentley perhaps, but not now - although hoping that at some point in his career he will turn that around.

“There was a belief Fylde were paying big money to players. A lot of people thought Danny Rowe was on £2,500 a week. It’s nonsense.

“Our wage cap is £1.000 to this day. Nobody gets more than that."

I agree with him, agents are a necessary evil but the game would be far better without them. Leeches and self interest prevail. Partly the reason wages are so inflated at our level and non sugar daddy clubs are in debt.

Hopefully Jim is still in the club's plans when he's well again. Wonder if he was consulted.

One or two people on here thought that Jim might have been too loyal when he was here and maybe should have changed his assistant.

Yes, I struggled to see what he bought that Jim didn't already have. I think for Jim though it was personal. They were obviously very tight and probably kept him sane during the tough times.

Just hope for Jim's sake that it isn't a repeat of the scenario our club went through re Jim Harvey and Sammy Mac....

He deserves the loyalty that deserted Jimmy Harvey....

Maybe Kenny didn't fancy stepping up as the interim. Be interesting to see who goes in there for the short term.

Big step up from Fylde
Got me thinking about the tempory position and it wouldn't surprise me if Danny Philiskirks dad threw his hat into the ring, experienced at a higher level and always there to watch his son on match days

Freshen up he was only there for a few months. If we had said that after 7 years there would have been uproar.

Yes , I thought the "freshen up" looked a bit odd.

I think Fylde are in trouble if they go down. A lot of their "fans" have gone back to Bloomfield Road and Fylde's owner wishes he was there too !

Think they may already be thinking they are down

Read a report somewhere from their chairman saying it needed freshing up,:-

"We wish Kenny the best and thank him for the work he has done in the brief time he was here. It's sad if he's leaving with a relegation on his CV that certainly wasn't his fault. He was a hard-working guy."

I suspect this could be the end of Jimbo's time at AFC Fylde too. It would not surprise me if after his by-pass operation there is some kind of statement saying he is leaving the club to fully recuperate from his surgery and thanking him for his services!

Like history repeating itself but Jim needs to look after himself after this lot.

You could unfortunately be right as I suggested in a previous post in this thread.

Very sad if it does happen

However his health is more important but Jimbo will come back in some role in the game. Wouldn't be surprised if Everton feature in the future.
