“.....frozen out of the Shrimps...........” I hope Kev gets the move, and good luck to him if he does, or in whatever he decides to do moving forward.

Probably shows where Kev is at now in his playing career. Chester are doing well in the Conf North but I think the fans expect promotion. Kev, Bernard and Johno could be an interesting mix!

Seriously looks like he is never going to feature for us anymore under the new regime, but being super fit for his age, he could probably add the x-factor that Chester need to end their season with a bang! They must be desperate to get back to the National League and Kev may be the secret ingredient they need. Hope it happens for all parties concerned.

I would have loved to have seen Kevin Ellison reach the 100 goal milestone for us.

Wouldn't we all Andy but his pace had diminished at L2 level and chances were becoming scarcer as a result. Would be nice to see him get a swansong at a decent club like Chester, rather than just fade out to nothing.

Yes, that is a real slap on the bonce, might have taken another season, sad ending to our all time highest goalscorer, he would have whacked in Slews chance the other day

Tormentor in chief, as he leaves Adam Yates on his ass

What a player and all the best Kev, in everything you do.

I'd have liked to see him come off the bench on Saturday, he'd have been perfect for the game. I think he could still do a job for us as an impact sub, but clearly that's not going to happen. I also expected Kev and Buxton to go to Fylde. Adam could do a good job there and Kev not just for on the pitch but off it too, could have helped dig them out of their trouble.

So how did that work out then?

… in the football league.

Still some way behind Keith Borrowdale (289) and John Coleman (201).

RE Kev, its baffling he is not involved IMO and this was underlined on Saturday. I can understand but not necessarily agree that Slew is your man for 90 mins, but with 10 minutes to go who are you bringing on to make an impact? Is it even a debate?

Slew needs to start showing some goal prowess and soon or he won't see out the end of the season.

Should the game be on tonight I am most looking forward to screaming at Jordan Slew for being shit whilst Kev sits at home. Very very frustrating. Conditions are absolutely made for him tonight.

Please refrain,
Slew would most likely score a hat-trick in these conditions as the ball swings back from the corner flag

Kev's legs have gone now, he became a passenger during games. He has had a one in a million career, played professional footy at 40 and managed to reach out to people outside of football. He has been equally loved and loathed by fans up and down the country and scored some unbelievable goals. He has become one of Morecambe's greatest ever and watching him was pure theatre. He deserves his legend status as a player and his speaking out about his mental health issues demands respect. We can't keep expecting him to pull us out of the shit at 40, we can't keep rolling him out in hope of him putting one in the top corner from 40 yards. I hope he signs for Chester and he gets back to playing footy, footy needs Kev Ellison too.

I understand that Kevin has completed a course in counselling so that he can help those who like himself have suffered from depression and in particular sportsmen and sportswomen.

If true then Kevin returning to P/T football at Chester is a logical step and I for one wish him well and hope that our club can somehow give him a a fitting send off for what he has done whilst with us.

Just to let Kevin go with no official thank you is not fitting for a club legend.

Had a look on Deva Chat, Chesters Forum, which is fairly active. No mention of Kev on there since 2018 so it's not a rumour their fans have picked up on.

With only months left on his contract, it would be a fitting gesture if the club paid it up and let Kev go and play football somewhere else.

Couldn't agree more.

Kev has been a superb ambassador, as a player and a person, for our club. He has to play a game so everyone can give him a proper send-off.

Yes, in a 10th Season which starts in August, but it's pretty clear he won't be employed here

Rightly so, but probably won’t happen. Give the man a well deserved send off, with total respect, which he has well and truly earned.
