Morecambe 2 [Miller, Allesandra] Salford 2

Morecambe 2 [Miller, Allesandra] Salford 2

Entertaining first half with some good football played. Their goal was a poor attempted clearance from Old that was played right back in to the danger area rather than clear. Admittedly, their lad finished well, but he was set up by an error.

We’ve created space up front but not really made their keeper work particularly.

Surprised it is still 0-1 but they are a bit better than us so far. More goals in this game in the second half I think.

Enjoyable game will be more enjoyable if we can get a goal or two!

Realistically we should be up. Need to try to avoid gifting them chances.

We've scored some brilliant goals this season, need to get the ball on the deck more rather than head tennis

Get in! I hope we keep playing good football on the deck and don't sit back and get nervous if we let them attack they'll score again. 3-1 please

The distribution of our back 4 is really poor, we look a totally different team once we actually get the ball down in midfield. Too often though it's bouncing around or passes are misplaced

Got to be honest, watching on iFollow I thought it was a penalty. Of course he played for it, ran in front of Buxton and then slowed down into him, but Buxton ran straight through the back of him.

Very inconsistent though, the Alessandra one looked blatant to me as well.

The hoofball from the back is so frustrating. It's not bad luck that we've hit our own man multiple times today, it's panicky clearances from the back. I'm not saying we have to play like Man City, but a bit of thought and time taken by the defenders would be nice, reserve the hoofing for when we need it. Seems like hoofing is our default when we're out of ideas

What a cracking game! Two superb goals for us, two weak ones conceded. Some superb football played by us against one of League Two’s top sides. Poor ref, who thought there was only one team in it.

After all these years, how come we still don’t know where the sun sets? Barry messed up for the second but then pulled off a superb penalty save to redeem himself. Now go buy a cap!

Agree with all of that Keith, really enjoyed it. Pleased they let the same guy take the 2nd penalty, after missing the 1st. He was always going to hit it low, and Barry saved brilliantly. A few very good performances today Tutte, Tanner, Allesandra, and overall, a solid team performance. There is still plenty to come yet imo......COYS.

PS Adam Rooney.......WHO

Thoroughly entertaining and a fair result. Pleasure to watch. Tutte and Wildig were the standout players for me today and everything should just go through Allessendra, he is a class above.

Not so much the result but the performance, people were leaving the ground buzzing, this is how we increase our support!

Credit to Jim for picking an attacking lineup, spirited performance!

Huh? Number 10 missed the first and number 17 missed the second.

Lloyd was the first taker and Towell took the second.

For 5 second half minutes we were unplayable. We finally started using width rather than being narrow and predictable. We were playing a flat back 5 in the first half and invited Salford on. I thought they were unlucky not to be 2 or 3 up. It was unreal the amount of times they hit it straight at Barry.

In the second half we started using the wing backs which in turn helped Tutte and Wildig as they had options. O'Sullivan and Lewis were unplayable linking with Miller and his clever runs. The defence looked dodgy at times and Sutton with the ball at his feet is a nightmare. Don't know what to make of Baz's afternoon but what a penalty save. We can play, we have players that like to play so lets hope we see more of it in future.

Two great goals, football played on the deck,
then Sutton pumps the ball through the air every time,
don't think he found a team mate all afternoon,
their defenders won everything in the air
Ref was poor again,
not sure about the second pen at all look like a con trick to m, but baz redeemed himself
Enjoyed the afternoon,
But let's play it on the ground not in the air

Winner of spot the deliberate mistake MfcC. My mistake( not unusual), not paying enough attention to the taker, more on Barry. Cheers.

Haha deliberate mistake my arse

Also, Buxton preferred to Jordan at left wing back when Luke went off injured. A right footed player preferred over a left footer must mean Jordan is seen as a midfielder now.

Bit worrying that Allesandra and Conlan went off injured as we are already short on numbers
