O/T John McGuinness breaks leg

Finished working a night shift.
Rode to the ferry.
Tried to kip on The King Orry (my favourite boat)
Failed to kip on the boat.
Rode to Scarborough.
Checked in to B&B.
Had shower.
Went out drinking until goodness knows when.

Following day, went to the races.

Lay down on the grass along the side of the start/finish line.
Rested my head looking through the gap in the fence.
Watched a race.
Fell asleep.

Don't know how many races I missed! Couldn't bloody sleep in a cabin on the ferry, but slept through motorbikes racing ten foot from my head!

Great racing over there. If the North West goes ahead, I may see about a holiday in Ireland. Although in a post Brexit world, Ireland may not be a great place to visit next year

So how did that work out then?

We had an amazing weekend at The East Coast Racing Festival (FKA Killalane) near Skerries, Ireland, last year.
Never seen Mrs Browns Boys (or probably ever will!) but I wholeheartedly implore you to watch it!( one of them lives on the course & they/he/she bankrolled it last year & would have again this year ).
Cracking atmosphere & great racing on narrow country lanes & the Irish Classic Superbike championship was wrapped up with Richard Ford (motorbike racer & racehorse trainer!) from Garstang becoming champion!
there's a couple of mins on this video to give you a flavour - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQ8Yf0b ... ainsparkle
& unlike other major events, you get to walk the track between races to get to different vantage points, but you have to be quick!!

I went to the Ulster GP a few years ago and couldn't believe it when I saw people jump down on to the road and move to a different vantage point between races!  :o :o

Obviously, by the end of the day, we were doing the same thing
