More genius than you would imagine. His rip offs were accidentally stuck together so when he ripped the first off they all came off. He spent most of the race with his head at an angle looking out a clear spot on the side of the visor!

The man's a genius.

One word 'Honda'
Their cars are better than good but the bike's are superfluous :D
Took one look at the weather this morning and the 600 was fired up, bloody wonderful in every way.
Can't wait for summer ;)

Can't believe this thread is from 5 years ago!! I'd have said 2 or 3!!!
Shame about the cancellation, but it's got to be done.
We have entries for both Hoghton Tower sprints(April & July) & planning on Barbon, Scarboro' & Leighton Hall, but we'll have to see if any of them go ahead now.
Meanwhile here's a link to a short vid of John on that (ahemm!) Norton 2 years ago -

Cheers Sparkle,
Had many chances to go to the TT and still to this day, something I've never done,
Sadly, I missed out on seeing the great Joey Dunlop and a host of others but I was always well informed from the lads who did go.
Speed is no longer important to me at my time of life, staying on the bike is

Yep, gonna miss it this year, started going in 1990, but missed 2001 (F & M).
Anyway, here's a small "phone" clip of John at Barbon last year, (the week before the TT!) resplendant in Norton leathers. He's a star, I think a lot of people wouldn't have taken any risks so close to such a major event!
The only time (so far!) that I have actually raced against a true TT hero!(even if he was in a different class, literally!)

Blimey, 13 years since the 130 lap and thanks to Keith, I ended up helping him drag that bike with it's seized engine out of the back of his transit. Always knew when the TT season was due, couldn't get past his house on the pavement

Can't believe it's 9 years since we went on a day trip to the TT. Ferry from Heysham at 2.00am, breakfast in the Manx Legion, a stroll, along the prom then up to the pits, walked out to Quarter Bridge (a pub and a Maccy''s), watched the Superbikes and Sidecars then walk back, a couple more pints in the Legion then ferry home

Atleast you'll still be loaded with all the money you've saved, some never get that chance.

I know, but it's seat of the pants stuff!
My IOM trips are paid for by a combination of making &/or selling stuff on Ebay, completing online surveys(?!??), using topcashback type sites & youtube! I've even be known to sell my small change (Manx variety!) online & sometimes can make 4 or 500% profit or even more!! (then again it might be a 2p or 5p piece!) :?
Every year I think I'm not going to make it, but it all comes together!
