*Statement: Early Bird Season Tickets*
Not A Penny More Until The Club Is Sold
With Early Bird Season Tickets due to be released imminently, we urge supporters to delay renewing until Jason Whittingham has sold the club. We make this call from deep concern and love for our club. After nearly 1,000 days without a sale which has seen relegation from the heights of League One to our EFL status effectively gone after 18 years, the time for passive support is over.
Why we say "Not A Penny More":
- Every pound you spend helps Jason Whittingham delay the sale. The more the club earns from fans, the less Jason has to contribute himself.
- Withholding financial support puts pressure where it belongs - on Jason. The less money coming in, the more he has to find to cover the losses.
- The quicker he runs out of money, the sooner he must act. This could either force Panjab Warriors to prove they can complete the sale, or turn to other interested parties that he claims to exist.
- The club is currently losing over £1m a year, yet it continues to function. This means Jason is still trying to preserve his asking price.
- If the losses continue to increase even further, he either has to sell quickly or walk away with nothing.
- Supporter funds help no one but the man who has held us back for almost 3 years. Buying tickets props up the illusion of stability, while we sleepwalk deeper into decline.
We understand reluctance. This is our club, our community, and has been for over a century. But we must be honest - carrying on as normal hasn't saved us, and hoping for the best is no longer an option.
May to August is critical for the club with no matchday income. This is the time when not spending hits the hardest. If you're unsure about boycotting next season, wait until later until the summer. See if the club is sold and help force a sale.
Not A Penny More. Until Jason Whittingham is gone.
